Statement of Faith

STATEMENT OF FAITH

The foundation upon which all our efforts are based.

The Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers-USA (FCPO) is built on the unshakable truths of the Christian faith, all centered on Jesus Christ—our crucified, risen, and glorified Savior and Lord. In the unique challenges of law enforcement, officers find strength, wisdom, and purpose through Him. Our faith is more than a guiding principle; it is the foundation of our mission, uniting officers in their commitment to live out the Gospel in both their personal and professional lives.

At FCPO, we believe that a strong spiritual foundation is essential for officers who seek to honor God in their profession. Our core beliefs, rooted in Scripture, affirm the authority of God’s Word, the power of salvation through Jesus Christ, and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit. These truths not only sustain officers in the face of adversity but also equip them to be lights in a world that desperately needs the hope and redemption found in Christ. Faith is not simply a private conviction—it is a calling to serve, protect, and lead with the love and righteousness of God.

The following statement of faith reflects the essential beliefs that guide our ministry. These foundational truths shape our efforts to equip and encourage Christian officers, helping them navigate their profession with unwavering faith and a commitment to biblical principles. As we stand together in Christ, we are strengthened to fulfill our purpose—to bring the hope of the Gospel into law enforcement and make an eternal impact in the lives of officers and the communities they serve.

The Bible

We believe the Old and New Testament scripture of the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, authoritative Word of God and that it is the supreme and final authority for our faith and life. (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

God

We believe that there is one God, eternally existing and manifesting himself to us in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is merciful and loves us, but is just and must punish sin. (Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6; John 14:6, 10; Exodus 34:6-7; John 3:16)

Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, that He is the only begotten Son of God, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:26, 35; John 1:1-4, 1:14 and 1:29; Acts 1:11 and 2:22-24; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 and 4:15)

Salvation

We believe that all people everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, that eternal life is a free gift and cannot be earned; we are saved by grace and not by our own works, and that for the salvation of a lost and sinful human race, repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ results in regeneration by the Holy Spirit. (Luke 24:46-47; John 14:6; Acts 2:38; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23 and 6:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Ephesians 1:7 and 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7)

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God, that He indwells all believers, having baptized them into the body of Christ at the time of regeneration, and that His indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life. (John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8 and 4:31; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14 and 12:13-14; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 4:4-5 and 6:12; Colossians 2:6-10)

Eternity

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; that the saved will be resurrected to eternal life and the lost will be resurrected to judgment and punishment for sin. They will be separated from God eternally. (John 3:36 and 16:7-11; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Jude 14-15; Revelation 20:11-15)

Unity

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church. (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23)

Christian Life

We believe that, as redeemed followers of Jesus Christ, we are to dedicate ourselves to prayer, to the service of our Lord, to His authority over our lives, and to the ministry of evangelism and discipleship. (Matthew 9:35-38, 22:37-39, and 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15 and 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10; Colossians 2:6-10; 1 Peter 3:15)

Marriage, Gender and Sexuality

We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage, that God created man and woman as unique biological persons made to complete each other. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9)

Sanctity of Life

We believe that all human life is sacred from conception to its natural end, and that we must have concern for the physical and spiritual needs of all humanity. (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10)
