Learning to be more like Christ every day

Discipleship is all about spiritual growth, becoming more obedient to the Lord and learning to be more like Him every day. It requires us, as believers, to respond to the Holy Spirit's prompting to examine our thoughts, words, and actions daily and compare them with the Word of God. we develop the spiritual maturity to overcome the temptations and pressures of daily life.

Members of the law enforcement community understand how important training is. When an officer needs to react, there is usually no time to think; seconds may mean the difference between life and death. That is why we train year after year, hour after hour.  We go back to the basics and start from the beginning so that what we learn becomes instinctive.

Likewise, FCPO's Cop 2 Cop Discipleship Study is an 8-lesson "basic training" guide with the purpose of making more and better disciple makers in law enforcement. The focus of this study is on one-on-one discipleship, from one cop to another. It can, however, also be used by an individual or in a small group setting. Online video follow-up sessions are currently being planned that will offer continued discipleship opportunities after completing the study. Every FCPO New Member Packet contains a copy of our Cop 2 Cop Discipleship Study.

There is no other biblical training specifically designed for law enforcement officers. This lack of training has resulted in the image of today’s law enforcement officers being tarnished. It has also contributed to the high number of failed marriages, domestic abuse, substance abuse and suicides. 

There has never been a more important time to train our peace officers to make an eternal impact on our law enforcement community and those in our nation they serve. Law enforcement is currently engaged in a spiritual battle and they need the strength and hope only Jesus Christ can give.
